Emergency  lights, fire, volcano, heat, power ... all of the concepts that come to my mind with these HOT colors are dynamic and potent. The color both draws me, and at the same time, incites caution. I love the vitality, but is it SAFE?

It reminds me of some favorite quotes from books by C. S. Lewis about Aslan.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

"Only you mustn't press him. He's wild, you know. Not like a tame lion.” ― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

My painting today is a reminder of the conversation between GOD and Moses that is described in Exodus 19. Oh, you don't even know how much I wish I could be there with HIM - yet, I would be terrified! GOD is awesome, and yet, HE cares about me personally. And you, too.

Exodus 19:16-20 (New American Standard Bible) So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Now Mount Sinai was all in smoke because the Lord descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently. When the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and God answered him with thunder. The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

    1. Thanks! The idea of a wild, unpredictable "Lion" who is not tame, but is good has long impressed me. Wouldn't be amazing to visit Narnia? :)

  2. The all time favorite quote from the Narnia series, "He's not safe, but he's good." Yes, I must agree!
