ACEO give-away card

Image
Heart Doll Heart Doll ACEO NFS So, here is the ACEO that I gave away yesterday to a new 'like' on my Facebook page,   https://www.facebook.com/BrendaKayPaintings  . She is a favorite character that I draw and paint, and often shows up in different projects.  I was so excited to see the numbers going up on my page as new people found and 'liked' it! I have to say it made my day!  Looking forward to posting a new painting that I have been working on - maybe tomorrow. See you then! ;)

Dancing Rhino painting

Image
Dancing Rhino You may have noticed that I have an affinity for rhinos. Not the real ones (as far as I know) but the IDEA of them... It all goes back to an inside joke with friends. Isn't interesting how a seemingly insignificant discussion can lead to collections and new art interests? Have you ever tried to draw a rhino? I am sure I never had... 8x10 a crylic painting on canvas Please leave comment to purchase

Thankful

Image
Thankful Acrylic painting, iridescent highlights, heavy texturing 15" x 30", deep gallery wrap canvas NFS This painting is already spoken for. The 'Thankful' painting was my response to a walk in the woods in the wintertime. After walking in cold, crunchy snow, I was drawn to the cool colors and texture of the juniper trees; especially the blue 'cones' or berries. The particular tree I was painting from was LOADED with the blue orbs, and they were fascinating to paint. (I know they are difficult to see in this photo.) Thanks for looking!

A new painting, and a thank you

Faith, Hope, and Love Faith, Hope, and Love 50 x 26 Framed Acrylic Painting on panel SOLD Please note: the colors and contrast on these photos may appear different on different monitors. This is an acrylic painting with a dark background, and raised boards representing these three virtues. There are many ways of expressing each of these ideas, but my hope was to bring about contemplation, interest, and emotion connected with each.  Faith, hope, and love as I painted them here are inspired by Scripture; particularly 1 Thes. 5:8, 1 Cor. 13:13, and 1 Thes. 1:3. Each panel is an attempt to communicate the characteristic without resorting to trite and overused symbolism. The background is textured and multicolored, but dark and intense, communicating the backdrop against which these virtues shine even more brightly. And a big thank you... And secondly, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to my dear friends, the Baldwin family, for being the first

July 4th Sunset

Image
Celebrating Independence Day! My husband Bruce and I went for a walk yesterday right about sunset. We talked about how normally the loud explosions would make us hesitant to walk the trails! But it was so beautiful out. The water levels here are quite high, and the mosquito population was out to celebrate too! Here is my daily painting for the day - the sunset was absolutely breathtaking! July 4th Sunset Of course, the copyright info will not be on the painting itself when it is purchased.  Original 5x7 Acrylic painting SOLD

Here we go!

Well, for my first post, I thought I would introduce you to my studio space - which has become so messy as I am moving toward offering my art for sale! I saw some other artists who gave a "studio tour" on their blogs, and thought I would join in! I was inspired by their spaces... Soon I will be adding my paintings for sale and so on... I hope to see many friends visiting me here!
