Day 26 already! I just can hardly believe the challenge to paint 30 paintings in 30 days has gone so quickly for me. I am sure I still have about 10 more paintings I want to do based on stones found in the Bible - most of the ones I have been painting have been gem stones, and there are so many others mentioned.

As I suspect is the case with many of my fellow artists, I have noticed that the daily time in the studio is helping my creativity, my techniques, and my desire to paint more. I am finding that when I can imagine something, I usually know what to do to achieve that effect. NOT  that it is perfect, but more practice definitely helps - as we should all know.  To quote Arnold Palmer, the famous golfer who passed away yesterday, "It’s a funny thing, the more I practice the luckier I get."

With this painting, my set of stones from Exodus 28 & 39 is complete. I will enjoy seeing if I like each painting enough to frame them as a set for an upcoming exhibit. And of course, I will enjoy painting replacements for any that have sold or just don't fit with the rest. *smile*

Exodus 28:15 “You shall make a breastpiece of judgment, the work of a skillful workman; like the work of the ephod you shall make it: of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen you shall make it. 16 It shall be square and folded double, a span in length and a span in width. 17 You shall mount on it four rows of stones; the first row shall be a row of ruby, topaz and emerald; 18 and the second row a turquoise, a sapphire and a diamond; 19 and the third row a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst; 20 and the fourth row a beryl and an onyx and a jasper; they shall be set in gold filigree. 21 The stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel: twelve, according to their names; they shall be like the engravings of a seal, each according to his name for the twelve tribes.
