As I was playing around with some of my more transparent colors (Payne's Gray from Matisse and Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold from Golden), I came up with this little piece that I like! I like the suggestion of 'place' - light and shadow, hidden and deep. I love the way the colors play off one another, and the sgraffito makes such a statement on these particular colors.
