Patience

Patience

In some respects, this painting reminds me of the changing seasons. The thought of how a farmer or gardener has to patiently wait on the seasons came to mind. Patience has to be one of the toughest character traits to develop, and also to paint!

I have been working with some of my favorite transparent colors, and I love the interplay between them. I love to watch how they mix and layer. I also enjoy watching how the whole painting will develop. It is a pleasure to look and try to decide whether it is finished.
