Any Day Now 103 - Evening Clouds

Any Day Now 103 - Evening Clouds
Last night the sky around here was just stunning, and it was the whole, all the way east to west sky. I walked around our property just enjoying the beauty for a long time, and tried to mentally photograph the effects. I tried also using a phone camera, but to tell the truth, neither the camera nor the mental photograph really did the sky justice!

4" x 4"
Painted with artist quality heavy-body acrylic paint on 1.5” deep cradled wood panel
Edges painted black

I think I am coming to a plan for this series, finally! I plan to use the same substrates and the same 6 or 7 (Oh dear. I know 6-7 has become a trend, of sorts, but I really didn't intend to use it!) paint colors, and I will try to paint something from my daily experience. And I think it will be mostly abstract paintings, though I already know what I want to do for tomorrow, and it should definitely be more representational!

Please forgive me if I get pedantic here, but I want to explain some of my reasoning for what I plan to paint. First, I try to live every day in light of the spiritual realities of being a child of God, saved through Jesus Christ, which means every day has flashes of the sacred in it. I hope to capture just a bit of that.

Next, every day is a chance to live in the tension of waiting to be face to face with Him, while still living well here on earth. (Any day now...) I really want to do my best each day, and that includes sharing beauty with you.

Ok, I think that is enough wordiness for today! Please enjoy today's work.
John 14: 1-3  “Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also."
