Let me update you

New Every Morning #39, 2020.

Hello, friends. Long time no see. I know I have not blogged for a very long time, so I have decided to update you on where I have been and share some paintings that you may or may not remember.

At the risk of complaining, I will mention again that for the last many weeks I have been "sentenced" to time in my recliner, or else sitting with my foot in a bucket full of ice and water. At the end of July I somehow hurt my ankle, but I was pretty sure it was not a big deal, so I didn't seek any medical attention. After a while, I sought the advice of "Dr. Google", as I like to call him, and began self-treating my aching limb. In September I finally went to a specialist, and since then we have been treating my ankle, and I have been unable to paint, or do much else, for that matter.

New Every Morning #39 (2020) was the last, or nearly the last, of a long running series of small paintings based on Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." The original blog post for it is here, but today I am sharing it because I am enjoying its autumnal colors.

We have not yet solved the ankle situation, but I am scheduled for more testing soon, and hopefully that will get us moving in the right direction. In the meantime, I will try to blog a little more often and share some paintings that I painted before I hurt myself.

I hope you are able to enjoy the beautiful trees and colors of this season. Happily, I can see colorful trees from where I sit. More soon!

Coram Deo.
Brenda
