Another day of practice, and I am learning so much from painting the same concept over and over! (I hope to do well at the event - my first try at something like this...)

I like adding the black and white at the end of the painting. I think it is important to get the values and basic color well in hand before adding the deepest dark and lightest light. 

This painting would make a good companion to the first practice piece I painted, though the 'characters' are mostly the same in both. (The other painting is currently at a gallery, so I cannot compare them side by side.)
