Red

Red
As I am painting my first week of paintings in the 30/30 challenge, I am working on a 5 painting series based on the Wordless Book, and I hope that each day's work will be an improvement on the former page.

The second page of the Wordless Book is the red page. (I would love for you to see this whole series - I am blogging about the meaning of the booklet, and the meaning of each page. These blogs start on September 1, 2014.)

The red represents the sacrificial death of Jesus for the sake of mankind - for the sake of ME. Red is a reminder of the blood that was shed when HE was crucified in order to rescue us from our naturally sinful state, and provide access to GOD and heaven.

New Testament verses that speak of this are Romans 5:6-10 "For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life."
