Can You Hear Me?

Can You Hear Me?
"Can you hear me?" a voice asks, and if you answer "yes", then (apparently) your identity is stolen in a new scam that is currently going around. Every once in a while, I get pretty exasperated by all of the warnings. Don't answer that. Don't go there by yourself. Don't eat that. Secure that with a lock/password/system. Make sure you prepare for that. Save that. *sigh*

48" x 48" painted with the finest quality heavy-body
acrylic paint on 1.5" deep canvas

What fun it has been, painting on such a big canvas! I have to admit, though, it is a little intimidating. I had to remind myself frequently that I could paint over anything I didn't like. (And actually, that I LIKE painting over paintings that just don't cut it.)

In this large work, there are small dot-like shapes that seem to float over a landscape. Many of them are iridescent copper-colored. To me, they represent communication. Everything from dots and dashes used in Morse code to 1s and 0s used in binary language, including digital music, art, voice, and so much more. These types of communications keep transportation working, families in touch, art markets flourishing (so I am told *wink*) and hospitals successful. The copper reminds me of all of my pennies - my money that is so important. Or so it seems.

But the view here is even above all of that - above the communication, the money, and the earth itself. And the view is unobstructed by all of that communication. There is not a question of whether it is safe or true or a scam from this height.

My thoughts are focused on GOD's word in Isaiah 55 when HE tells us that we don't think like HE does, and that HIS ways are above ours. HE sees clearly, and knows what is best for me. HE is never tricked by fake news or a scam phone call. How wonderfully reassuring it is for me to know that HE has the long view, so to speak, and also has the means to bring about what is best for me. I am thankful today!

Isaiah 55:8 - 9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts."
