Abstract Landscape

Abstract Landscape A couple of months ago, I was asked to submit art and an article to a publication for consideration. I felt honored that they sought me out and invited me to submit! I don't know yet whether I have been included in the next publication, but I would like to share some quotes from artists featured in the first issue of Revelations of the Artist .  "Only a loving God, a Master Creator, could conceive the infinite beauty our small planet provides." Karen Philpott, Revelations of the Artist , p.51* 10" x 10" Painted with the finest quality heavy-body acrylic paint on acid-free, heavy weight Fabriano watercolor paper Mounted on 1.5" deep cradled panel, edges painted black Click here to view on my website. "I believe that creativity is a wonderful expression of life and praise that can be developed and enjoyed in many aspects by anyone and everyone. I also believe that, for some, creativity and skilled expression is a gift and a calling, re...

Bloom

Bloom 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you. 10" x 10" Painted with the finest quality heavy-body acrylic paint on acid-free, heavy weight Fabriano watercolor paper Ready to frame Click here to view on my website. This little work was inspired by the wildflower patches my Beloved Husband has planted for me in our woods, and along our pasture fence. They are such beautiful colors, and they draw me to walk out to see them often.  Luke 12:27-28 “Consider how the wildflowers grow: They don’t labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these! If that’s how God clothes the grass, which is in the field today and is thrown into the furnace tomorrow, how much more will He do for you—you of little faith?" The composition of this painting is loosely based on one I did for the Psalm 23 series I...

Hold Tight

Hold Tight  I am once again studying for the workshop I will be teaching in a week and a half, and it has been a good exercise for me! I have learned some new composition ideas, and am trying new things with my color combinations. I feel that my study, even if I don't teach exactly what I have been learning, will strengthen my teaching, and I really want to present a good workshop to the FULL class. Yes, I can confirm that the class is truly full. Woo-hoo! 10" x 10" 10" x 10" Painted with the finest quality heavy-body acrylic paint on acid-free, heavy weight Fabriano watercolor paper Mounted on 1.5" deep cradled panel, edges painted black Click here to view on my website. For this start, I first added extra texture to the surface, and then painted a layer of Dioxazine Purple, a Golden acrylic heavy body paint that has a very strong staining characteristic. It is transparent with a gloss finish, and that was perfect for accentuating the texture on the surfac...

so that you will not grieve like the rest who have no hope

so that you will not grieve  like the rest who have no hope   Psalm 116:15  The death of his faithful ones  is valuable in the Lord’s sight. 2 Corinthians 5:1-9   For we know that if our earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal dwelling in the heavens, not made with hands. Indeed, we groan in this tent, desiring to put on our heavenly dwelling, since, when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.  Indeed, we groan while we are in this tent, burdened as we are, because we do not want to be unclothed but clothed, so that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment. So we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. In fact, we are confident, and we would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Therefore, whether we...
