The 'Thankful' painting was my response to a walk in the woods in the wintertime. After walking in cold, crunchy snow, I was drawn to the cool colors and texture of the juniper trees; especially the blue 'cones' or berries. The particular tree I was painting from was LOADED with the blue orbs, and they were fascinating to paint. (I know they are difficult to see in this photo.)
