Punctuation Mark

Punctuation Mark
This week I have some small pieces to release, and a few "fixes" too. I have reimagined one of my works on paper - well, some of them, actually - and now they are works on paper, mounted on cradled panel. When I was pretty new at painting, I had all matching frames for my work on paper, and somewhere along the way, I moved away from that. There are a lot of reasons for different framing options, including paintings that aren't standard sizes for premade frames. Some of these odd sizes I have had professionally framed, but most I just frame in "demonstration frames". If you had a lot of time and interest, I could tell you all of the issues with framing, but let me just say I am trying to fix some issues, and will probably try to return to those original, beautiful frames!

This little one sneaked up on me. It just doesn't really show well in photos, but it is a sweet little painting. As usual, I was working on several paintings at a time, and I quickly added a layer of paint to this one, expecting to keep going on it - but I love it! The paint layer accentuated both color and texture in a way that makes it so appealing. It would be a very cute exclamation point painting in a small corner of a bookcase or end table.

And, here is another thing I haven't done in a long time: I uploaded a short video to YouTube of Punctuation Mark. Hope you enjoy it!
