Hope Filled, the first of five commissioned paintings

Hope Filled
The Hope Project
"The Hope Project" - doesn't that sound encouraging? Two other artists and I are commissioned to paint works to hang in a new hospital in our area, and the three of us chose to name this opportunity. I began to mention The Hope Project here in my blog quite a while ago, and have recently been putting almost all of my time in on my part - five large paintings. I will be sharing them one at a time as I get closer to finishing them all and turning them over to be placed in their new spaces.

36" x 48"
Painted with artist quality heavy-body acrylic paint on 1.5” deep gallery wrapped canvas
Edges painted black

Hope Filled will be displayed with a partner painting in a space for a cafĂ© or lounge area. My hope (and believe me, that word has come up in my mind often every step of the way in this project!) is that staff, patients, and visitors will be encouraged to look closely at the paintings and will be filled with hope when they do.

This has been a delight to work on! At first, I was leery of having to try to fit my work into a very muted decorating scheme. I was told that I "will have to tone it down, of course", and that was daunting, to say the least. But I have been able to find my way, and have loved putting in the hours at the canvases!

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I had hoped to have a preview weekend at my home and studio for those who follow my work to see them, but that may not be possible due to some schedule changes. If you would like a preview, please contact me and we will try to work out a time that works for both of us!
