The Great Deep

Today I looked at an old painting of mine, and suddenly saw something new that I really wanted to 'say' with it. I have long had an odd fear of underwater scenes. I used to  get a little short of breath watching Jaques Cousteau on television, and one time, I used up almost an entire tank of oxygen learning to scuba dive - in water up to my waist! 

 As I was reading in my Bible in my Psalm for today, this verse struck me. Psalm 144:7 (New American Standard Bible)
Stretch forth Your hand from on high;
Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters... 
I also thought about Jonah chapter 2 where Jonah prays from the depths. The way to safety from 'the Great Deep' is looking up to God for his salvation.
