Ooh, Spring Greens!

Ooh, Spring Greens!
It has been a doozy of a week around here! So many adjustments being made and changes coming our way - my head is spinning on some days.

Painted with artist quality heavy-body acrylic paint on 1.5” deep cradled wood panel
Edges painted black

The time has finally arrived to let you know one of our big changes. The family-owned company that my Beloved Husband has been employed by is changing hands. The new owner is starting to pick up the reins, and will have the help of most of the current employees, and it looks to be a very positive transition. But it is a B I G transition for us, and for other family members who will be moving on to other pursuits. We are not sure what all to expect from the changes, but we know the timing is right and we anticipate such good things!

This spring, I have just been mesmerized by the greens all around me! I think I may have written about that several weeks ago, but it continues to be true. I have participated in some plein air painting recently, and it has me watching for patches of sun and shadow with more intensity. I don't exactly have a "favorite color" - contrary to what many might think - but this spring my favorite color might just be green.

So, of course I had to paint a small painting showing some of the green that I have been admiring so much. This morning I took a photo of one of our trees and the shadow that it threw on the grass in the front yard, and I translated it into these greens. Mmmm. I wish you could see it in real life! It is better than the photos show, of course. They always are!

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word. I was encouraged by these verses as I read this morning, and hope you are too.

Jacob's Ladder
In other news, this weekend I received the news that my painting, Jacob's Ladder, has been juried into the fabulous 3rd Acrylic International – Biennial Juried Exhibition that will be open later this summer in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Other years have shown the work there to be spectacular, with many artists who I admire and follow having work accepted, so it is exciting to me to be a part!
